Where am I going?
I don’t really know
Just wandering around in circles
Got no home
Nowhere to go
Walking around the same old street
Some people I will meet
Same old faces
Walking around the same old places
Blisters on my feet
Bumpy cobbled street
Circling round and round
Walking over the same old ground
Hello mate, still on the same spot
See you again just waiting round the block
Thirty miles a day
Walking the same old way
Tired and disillusioned
Finally come to rest
Cramped in a doorway
Smelling of piss
Too tired to care
Need to sleep
Stare at the stars
And dream
That I’m home for a while

Spring’s Beauty

The fullest greens
The deepest purples
The darkest browns
The brightest blues
Colours of spring all shine through

A golden sun
And pure white clouds
Tiny animals all around
Birds and bees
Squirrels in trees
A light cool breeze is all we need

I do believe that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from the rest
Because he knew I loved you best
I had a heart so warm and true
But now it’s gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done
For your home too and I have none
If I get to heaven and you’re not there
I’ll paint your name on the golden stairs
If you’re not there by judgement day
I’ll guess you went the other way

Dignity

Dignity who
Pointing your finger
At me and you
And I’m going to buy a dingy
Called dignity
Sung by Deacon Blue
Blue eyed sky and trees
Abstract
As you fall to your knees
And pray you do
And one day
A beautiful picture of the river comes alive
It’s true
Dignity in front of me
Called Cambridge River
With beautiful colours, flowers, barges
and people
That’s dignity
