Wintercomfort host picnic sponsored by Marks & Spencer
An afternoon of outdoor games and picnic has been held for homeless and vulnerably housed people supported by Wintercomfort.
The Picnic in the Park was sponsored by the city’s Marks & Spencer store which donated £500 for food and activities through an online community platform called Neighbourly.
Rachel Newell, Social Enterprise Manager for Wintercomfort, said: “It was a great event held in brilliant sunshine on Midsummer Common and much fun was had by all. Staff from Marks & Spencer joined our service users and played softball, giant Jenga and French boules and then enjoyed the delicious picnic food that was provided by the store. We would like to thank Marks & Spencer for their generous support.”
Steve Bennett, from Marks & Spencer, added: “Thanks for having us. It was a brilliant day.”
