The role involves building trusting relationships with women accessing our service and providing practical, person-centred support to help them move towards greater stability and independence.

About the role

As a Women’s Project Worker, you will work directly with women accessing Wintercomfort’s Women’s Service, providing one-to-one support as well as helping to deliver activities and group sessions.

You will support women to identify their needs and goals, access appropriate services and navigate issues including housing, health, wellbeing and other practical challenges.

The successful candidate will be someone who can build positive relationships, communicate effectively and work in a trauma-informed and non-judgemental way. You will need to be organised, proactive and able to work confidently with people who may have complex and multiple needs.

  • Is confident providing practical and emotional support
  • Can work effectively with partner organisations and other professionals
  • Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
  • Is committed to promoting dignity, choice and independence

Experience of working with women affected by domestic abuse, trauma, mental health difficulties or multiple disadvantage would be particularly valuable.
