Vikki’s Story

Vikki’s is a story we have told before. She started working for our social enterprise with Overstream Clean and Garden, and more recently Viki has also been playing a key role in our Women’s Services team as a Women’s Project Worker. Due to her past lived experience, the people we support can relate to her. She is a positive role model, and she supports women, offering reassurance and by sharing her story, actively demonstrates that women can make positive changes in their lives.

Now, Vikki is moving onto a new full time role, based at Wintercomfort and more widely in the Community, as a Health Navigator.  This role will offer support, engage with vulnerable people and signpost them to Wintercomfort and other services for people who are homeless. She will help assist with appointments, health screenings and assisting with the care and support they need.

This new role demonstrates the hard work Vikki has put in, learning new skills and using her experience to support others.

“I’m nervous about this new role, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone, but I’m also excited, as it’s in the familiar, safe space of Wintercomfort. I can use my skills and experience that I have built up with the work I have been doing with Wintercomfort to help me and to help others.”
