VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering at Overstream House is suspended currently, but we aim to hold a volunteer recruitment session in the Summer for new potential volunteers (Subject to Government guidance allowing). In the meantime, we invite you to apply and begin the Volunteer application process, by emailing volunteers@wintercomfort.org.uk

Volunteers play a vital role in providing Wintercomfort’s services for homeless people, working with service users, staffing our busy reception or helping with publicity and events.

We are committed to providing volunteers with a safe, fulfilling and rewarding experience, as well as offering the opportunity to meet new people, experience new things and help to make a real difference to the lives of homeless men and women in Cambridge.

As we are a day centre running an adult service, we cannot take volunteers under the age of 18, and our volunteering opportunities are during daytime hours. All volunteers are DBS checked by us before beginning to volunteer at Wintercomfort.

"Wintercomfort has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Almost from the first moment, this helped me to feel like a member of a big family."

I definitely feel that this fulfilling experience opened my heart and mind and helped me to see the world from a different perspective."  Rebecca, Volunteer
